Loyal Dog Stays By Her Dying Owner's Side For Five Hours
It's not news to anyone that dogs are literally the greatest things on this planet, but that doesn't mean we ever tire of hearing about them.
They'll do anything for you and will always be there until the bitter end.
Mistle the springer spaniel is a prime example of this as she stayed by her owner's side for five hours after he took a tumble during a walk.
David Sparkes had taken Mistle for an evening walk, and after falling to his death she remained loyal, refusing to leave until police found him.
After David didn't return home his family alerted police that he was missing, finding him along the River Severn at Holt Fleet.
The 65-year-old's daughter, Sally, said her dad and his dog had a "very special bond."
"Mistle stayed with him until the very end. She lay with him until we found him," Sally said. "She didn't move from his side even when the police found him in the field.
"It is a bit of comfort when nobody was with my dad. At least the dog was with him.
"It doesn't surprise me though really. They were inseparable."
Sally says that Mistle became very poorly because she missed David so much, and still looks for him.
The family our so proud of their dog, saying her loyalty summed up their special relationship.
