Couple Attacked By Crocodile In Swimming Pool But What Would Steve Irwin Have Done?

Or Crocodile Dundee, we're not prejudice.

In certain situations you are forced to put yourself in the mindset of someone else. In the majority of those scenarios, though, the thought of, 'what would Crocodile Dundee do?', rarely crosses your mind.

Of course, if you're ever thrown head first into a watery melee with a reptile, you're not just limited to channelling your inner Dundee - Steve Irwin would also be a popular choice.

This couple in Zimbabwe were confronted by a crocodile in their pool, but rather stupidly forgot to cast their minds back to The Crocodile Hunter, season two, episode one, when Steve captured a 14-foot beast. Instead, the geezer in the situation decided he'd put himself in the shoes of Tony Blair by following these simple steps:

  1. Identify major problem
  2. Make sure others are in more danger
  3. Run

What he should have done is zoned in on what Crocodile Dundee or Steve would do, although the khaki clothing and hat would be optional.

Let's not get it twisted, the two croc experts are very different people, with very different approaches - in both life and reptile seizing. Not to mention, one is totally fictional.

Mick Dundee, portrayed by Paul Hogan, would go for the ever reliable technique of withdrawing his knife and messing up the toothy swimmer. He would then turn to the camera, saying something very '80s and very cheesy.

The famous Croc Hunter, on the other hand, had tried and tested ways of dealing with the wild beasts:

  1. Speaking in a soft voice
  2. Squatting and spreading his arms (this is essential)
  3. Flicking his hair when the aquatic reptile flips out
  4. Speaks yet again in a soft voice, usually saying "crikey!"
  5. Calmly captures his target

Fortunately for the man in the first video in this article, he got away without so much as a scratch. However, his partner appears to be bitten on the arm. Luckily, another man comes to the aid of the woman and seems a lot calmer. He's obviously got a Crocodile Hunter box set somewhere.
