All across the internet there are certain things that just seem to grab people's attention.
Over the year I'd say there's been at least 30 'sightings' of the Loch Ness Monster which have gone viral, just because gullible Facebook punters lap it up. This, no doubt, is going to be no different.
Footage and pictures are currently going viral of what appears to be a 'mermaid' which has washed up on a beach in Great Yarmouth.

The pictures, which were uploaded to Facebook by Paul Jones have racked up 4,000 likes, as well as nearly 18,000 shares.
Jones captioned the pictures: 'Today at Great Yarmouth we found what looks like a dead Mermaid washed up on the beach'. However, on closer inspection of Paul's Facebook page, it shows that he's rather fond of creating creepy models and is a member of the 'Horror and Halloween DIY' Facebook group.

Despite this, people were quick to speculate whether it was actually a mermaid, or a weird half man half seal hybrid.
In fairness to Paul, it is very lifelike. The rotting on the face and mid-section is particularly frightening.
To be honest, I hope he's left the model on the beach just to shit up dog walkers and beach goers. That would be great.
