"I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality."

After Kim Kardashian posted a nude selfie on Instagram to kick off the week, certain portions of the internet collectively blew their lids. Various celebs called her out with begrudging 'we've seen it all before' type jokes.

Others were less critical, applauding Kim, as a woman, for being unashamed of her sexuality. This was a point reiterated by Kim in an essay she wrote in response to the hashtag drama:

"I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world."

These words started something of a trend within the female celebrity community. Call it solidarity, call it support - Kim's peers are now sharing their own selfies.

Like Kim's half-sister, Kylie.

Then Emily Ratajkowski also posted her own version, with a riff on Kim's original caption.

And let's not forget Mrs O herself, Sharon Osbourne, who posted her pic last night.

Fair play to them all.

It's sparking a very interesting conversation regarding female empowerment and online shame-mongering.
