Power Rangers Deluxe Double Morphing Rescue Megazords Are Worth A Lot These Days

Power Rangers Deluxe Double Morphing Rescue Megazords Are Worth A Lot These Days

They're now 20 years old.

It goes without saying that a lot has changed in the last 20 years.

Recently, people were dumbfounded that two decades had passed since the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was released. Though it wouldn't be 2001 until the film was released, kicking off the true power of the series, it all started 20 years ago and that does nothing but make us feel old.

When you think about 1997, there's not necessarily anything that jumps out apart from the death of Princess Diana. However, 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua was released, which I think we can all agree was a turning point in music.

The way kids played was also totally different back then. There were no smart phones, no tablets, no Sky +; you had to make do with what you had.

If that meant locking a butler in a fridge on Tomb Raider on the PlayStation One, so be it. If it meant trading Pokémon cards, then we'd make it extravagant. And if it meant showing off your latest toys, then you'd become Barry Big Bollocks.

There were so many figurines flying around in the late 90s, such as wrestlers, Action Man and Power Rangers, but anyone who's anyone knows that if you wanted to be taken seriously you had to have a Deluxe Double Morphing Rescue Megazord.

If you don't know what one is, then get out. Go. However, if you need a reminder, it was a collection of five Rescue Zords which transform into one big massive Rescue Zord and it just looked like the business.

It was pretty much the king of the toy chest, and a true achievement by BanDai who produced it all those years ago.

Now, though, the toy, or at least as a whole with all it's components, is a rarity. You'll have to go a long way to find someone who has all the parts, or indeed any of them.

That's why if you do want one, for whatever reason, you'll be paying out your arse for it. But, if you've still got yours hidden away somewhere, you may want to get it shifted.

On Amazon, the toy from times gone by is selling for a ridiculous $399.95 (£308.50), and they've whacked a $6.44 post and packaging price on it.

Over on eBay you can find similar prices too, where it is available a bit cheaper, but in mint condition there's an asking price of $750.00 (£578). For some absurd reason there shipping price is $23.27 (£18), which is absolutely out of order.

If you've got one it's definitely worth sticking it online - there'll be a nerd somewhere willing to take it off your hands.

And, as always, it's worth checking to see if you have your old Pokémon cards lying around, they're going for a fair amount online, too. Could even try Beyblades as well.
