There was recently an issue with the Samsung Galaxy 7 which was causing the handsets to explode and was forcing them to be recalled.
It seems that iPhone 7s are now throwing up the same problem.
In the same way the handset made an explosive build up to its eventual release, one has exploded.

Reddit user kroopthesnoop posted pictures of the exploded phone after a colleague received it in the post, already blown up. The co-worker had pre-ordered the device, and it arrived looking like it had been dragged through the fires of Mordor.
On the Reddit thread, people were quick to question whether the phone had actually exploded due to a technical malfunction. It's likely that the damage came from the delivery, or some salty bastard who packaged it. Some even believed it wasn't a brand new iPhone 7, if an iPhone 7 at all.

kroopthesnoop updated the post, saying that an Apple worker had been in contact with them to ask for more details.
After passing on his co-worker's information, the Apple worker offered to send a replacement phone, which is the least that could have been done.
