Marine Tricks Girlfriend Into Cheating On Him By Catfishing Her

Ah, young love.

Cheating is a horrible thing to do to someone. Personally, I don't get it. If you are interested in someone else, just dump the person you're with and go get them. But there are lots of reasons someone gets a side chick; it could be their relationship isn't working but they don't want to end it, they're lonely, weak willed, jealous, or - they're just a bad person.

And cheating seems to be rife.

According to The Truth About Deception, 30-60 percent of married couples cheat on each other at one point in the States. That's over half, so it's no wonder that some people are convinced that their partner is doing the dirty.

A marine named Daniel Herdklotz had an inkling that his girlfriend was open to cheating on him. So when he was deployed for a month he decided to test her.

He set up a fake Facebook account and started chatting to her. She talked back to him.

After catfishing her for a while, he asked if they could FaceTime and she agreed. So naturally, he decided to film it.

"She thinks it's ok to play behind me," he said to the camera. "I set up a fake Facebook account and started to hit her up. She thinks she's about to FaceTime this guy on Facebook but it's me."

He and his friends are understandably pissed. As a soldier, he's risking his life for his country while she is talking to strange men on Facebook; but then I do wonder how those two met in the first place?

So he decided to phone her up as the Facebook random and let her know he's aware she's a cheat.

He called up his girlfriend and said: "Hi. Do you wanna play this game? You didn't think it was me who was calling, did you?"

She hangs up and he tries to call her back but she doesn't pick up. Well, I guess that's over then.

What a way to end it.

"Whatever, fuck her, there's more fish in the sea," he said.

While the online reaction to Daniel's trickery has been mixed, many users have offered support to the military man.

One said: "It's horrible to see this happen, I don't understand how someone could cheat. Especially when you are out there fighting for your country. I'm sorry that this happened to you."

Another thought he should have broken up with her as soon as she responded to the catfish profile. "Should have just broke up with her for no reason whatsoever. Would have killed her trying to figure out why," they wrote.

A lot of girls have been getting in touch too but he didn't hang around long.

"For those of you girls that wanna keep hitting me up," he wrote on YouTube. "Hit my buddy alfredo_62 up. His girl also cheated on him and I've found a girl."

Fast work, Daniel. Hope this one doesn't cheat on you and you don't feel the need to catfish her.
