Conor McGregor Reveals Why He Lost All Respect For Nate Diaz

No love lost.

Ever since Conor McGregor embarked on his mission to make history in the UFC, to defeat Eddie Alvarez to become a dual-weight champion, the hype surrounding his rivalry with Nate Diaz died down.

The two fights involving Diaz and The Notorious created a buzz in and around the octagon, eventually seeing the pair walk away from their feud with one win each.

Many people have, and will continue to call for a third and final fight between the Stockton hard man and Dublin success story to finally settle the contest. However, while Conor awaits the arrival of his first born and plans to get Floyd Mayweather in a boxing ring, we'll probably be waiting a while for him to meet Nate in the octagon again.

Any sort of noise surrounding the two has pretty much become silent, especially when you consider the fact that at The Notorious' recent 'An Experience With...' event in Manchester, he and journalist Ariel Helwani had bigger fish to fry rather than talk about Diaz at length.

Of course though, in among talks about Mayweather, flash cars, Wrestlemania appearances, his baby's gender and making history, a question was posed about the Stockton native.

At the event he revealed that the respect he once had for his former rival has now gone, after he appeared on a Floyd Mayweather Facebook Live.

"Nate's a bitch. Nate's a fucking bitch, and let me tell you why," he told Helwani. "I had the biggest respect for Nate - and I still have big respect for Nick, he's out doing his thing - but when [Nate] took that phone call or that video call from Floyd Mayweather, and was like, 'hello Floyd's fans,' he was Floyd's bitch that night. I was like, you fucking pussy. You absolute pussy.

"He should've said, 'shut your fucking mouth or I'll strangle you too,' and then posted that everywhere.

"And then all of a sudden, it would've been like, fuck Floyd. It would've been me and Nate again. But he was Floyd's bitch that night. He was Floyd's employee that night. So look, fuck Nate. Fuck Nick. Fuck the Diaz brothers. And if you want to be down with the Diaz brothers, then fuck you too."

Anyone who may have had any doubts over whether or not McGregor did have respect for Diaz, probably hasen't heard their exchange following their second battle at the T-Mobile arena in Vegas.

Despite the pair's pre-fight hostility, which included a rather bizarre bottle throwing press conference, it was evident that they both had huge amounts of respect for one another after the fight lasted the full five rounds.

As they waited for one of their hand's to be raised in victory, they hugged in the middle of the octagon and shook hands, while The Notorious said something to the Stockton native.

An episode of Thrill and the Agony, videos that are produced by UFC, reveals what he said.

"Great fight brother. Great fucking fight. You're a Mexican warrior. You're a little Mexican warrior brother," the 28-year-old can be heard saying.

The Dubliner limped away from the cage thanks to numerous kicks to Nate's legs, but couldn't resist making his way through the backstage area saying: "You all doubted me; doubt me now."

At the same Q&A in Manchester the fighter revealed that he and his missus, Dee Devlin, are expecting a baby boy - something he's incredibly excited about.

"The only time my records are going to be broken is by him," he said. "I'm going to train this child.

"I hope when it comes down to it I can settle down when I have a child. I hope I can man up and be a father."
