Teacher Who Slept With And Sent Pictures To Student Claims She's The Victim

A 24-year-old teacher who engaged in an affair with one of her students has claimed she is the victim in this rather odd story.

Mary Beth Haglin admitted she had sex with a 17-year-old everyday for six months and sent him sexy selifes.

Despite being seven years older than her student toy boy, when appearing on Dr Phil, a popular American television show which is like Embarrassing Bodies for the mind, she said she is not to blame.

She claims the seductive powers of the teen were so great she was unable to resist the temptation.

"He did so with such intelligence and such an elevated vocabulary that I was completely duped by the whole facade," she said of his sexual prowess.

The former teacher has now picked up a job as a lap dancer in a strip club, but could face up to two years behind bars if she is convicted of exploiting her ex-student.

According to Mary, the whole thing came about because her and the teenager were stuck in a mid-2000s chick flick, passing notes to each other in the classroom. Somehow, the teacher was so overcome by the charming scribbles on a scrap piece of paper she just couldn't help herself. I think it's best we all know that one of the notes said 'I like the way you smell like pizza'.

"We had sex - almost daily - in his car, my car, his mom's house, and his dad's house," she told Dr Phil. She claims following a troubled relationship with her then boyfriend she began a physical relationship with the teenager.

Mary says after having second thoughts about the sexual affair she tried to end the relationship but the student threatened her.

She told Dr Phil: "When things got way out of control, and I wanted out, he began saying 'I will light a match and burn your life down'."

The debauchery came to an eventual end when another student spotted the pair together.

The former substitute teacher is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and her trial is due to start in November.
