By now we're all familiar with the story surrounding the events that unfolded on United Airlines on Sunday.

69-year-old Doctor David Dao, as Vietnamese-American, was hauled off the flight in Chicago to make way for additional seating for on-board staff.

After telling security staff that they would have to drag him off the plane, he was pulled down the aisle by his arms.

Disturbing pictures later showed the man returning the aircraft with a bloodied face.

Dao's lawyer has now revealed his client's injuries and claims that he suffered a concussion, a broken nose and the loss of two front teeth.

Yesterday,LADbible spoke to an American aviation lawyer, who said that Dao could be in line to receive a large amount of money and be able to claim in 'several areas, from negligence to assault'.

Steve C Marks reckons if Dao got a 'conservative jury, then he could be looking at being awarded hundreds and thousands of dollars' but as the jury may have seen the highly publicised events he could be looking at 'tens of millions'.

Today, the lawyer representing Mr Dao, Thomas Demetrio, has said that the doctor found the shocking actions taken by United Airlines staff more 'horrifying and harrowing' then living in Vietnam during the war that lasted between 1955-1975.

Dao left the war-torn country in 1975 when Saigon (the then capital) fell. His lawyer told the media that "when Siagon fell, and he [Dao] was on a boat, he said he was terrified. He said that being dragged down the aisle, was more horrifying and harrowing in what he experienced leaving Vietnam.

"That was his response, so I give it to you," he ended.

In describing how Dao felt about what had happened, his lawyer also revealed the extent of his injuries.

Dao, discharged from hospital late last night, "did in fact suffer a significant concussion as a result of disembarking the plane," his lawyer said.

"I can also tell you that he had a serious broken nose," Demetrio continued. "He had injury to the sinuses, and he is going to be undergoing reconstructive surgery on that record.

"There's been a lot of enquiries about 'did he lost any teeth?', yeah he lost two front teeth," he added.

The full extent of Dao's injuries, however, are not yet known. "But conditions are sort of an iffy condition," he said. "I don't know, ultimately, long term, there hopefully won't be any significant reprecussions, but he's shaken."

Demetrio also stated that, whereas United Airlines will bear the brunt of responsibility, there has to be some shared duties taken with the City of Chicago.

Dr Dao's daughter, Crystal, was also present at the media briefing, this afternoon. She added: "It has been a very difficult time for our family, especially my dad, and we are truly grateful for the support.

"What happened to my dad should never happen to any human being regardless of the circumstance. We were horrified and shocked and sickened to learn what had happened to him, and see what had happened to him.

"We hope in the future, that nothing like this happens again. Thank you so much, again, for your support."

Dr Dao will continue to recover from his injuries, as the investigation begins to start traction.
