You Can Get Free Flights To New Zealand But Of Course There's A Catch

Shock.

I reckon a trip to New Zealand should be something on everyone's To Do List. Admittedly, if you were blind-folded and taken there, you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for Wales, but Middle Earth is there, so it's boss. End of.

If we're going to be completely honest here, then we all have to concede that renting a VW camper van, filling it with Lembas bread, po-ta-toes (boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew) and a few vegetables from Farmer Maggot's crop, then driving a similar journey to Frodo and Sam's, would be the best holiday ever.

Though New Zealand often gets pigeon holed as 'that place where Lord of the Rings was', exhibit A being the tirade I've just been on, there are other things to do.

To begin with there's a place called Hell's Gate, which is instantly intriguing. Despite its name, it's not fearsome in any way, but is a geothermal area. Known as Tikitere, it has steaming lakes, mudpools, fumaroles, a mud volcano and the Kakahi Falls, and sounds like the kind of place that would fit in nicely on a hipster's Instagram page.

There's also a place called Castle Hill, which is sure to be popular among Ed Sheeran fans given his recent single 'Castle on the Hill'. Made up of a series of boulders and rocks, it looks like castle ruins - the landscape is so striking that the Dalai Lama named the area the 'Spiritual Centre of the Universe' back in 2002.

So, if any of these things interest you, and a trip to NZ is on your To Do List, then you'll be happy to learn that you could get free flights there.

Obviously there's a catch (of course there is). In order to get there for free, you'll have to undergo a series of interviews organised through LookSee Wellington.

Roles in software development are available, as well as digital producers and creative directors, so obviously you need to be qualified. The program is flying 100 people out to Wellington for free, with the chance to explore the city - you just need to attend job interviews at various tech companies.

To apply you can create a profile on the LookSee website and Wellington-based companies will nominate candidates. Those with the most nominations will be flown out - simple.

It's worth noting that, among great sights, weather and so on, Wellington is the craft beer capital of the country. So that's alright, though just standard beer is fine. In fact, it's better.

If this is your line of work and you're maybe looking for a new job, then I don't understand why you're still reading this. Apply. Your flights are paid for, as is your accommodation, and the country is probably a lot less gloomy than the one you're currently in.
