What a guy.

What is life? Is it just vast, empty, nothingness, with the only goal to make it to old age? Or is it sitting about, inhaling, injecting, smoking, breathing, eating and drinking memes? Maybe even waiting to become a meme?

It has to be the latter. We all wake up hoping to see a notification, seeing that so and so has tagged you in a meme. A Picture, accompanied by a funny caption, giving you life. Giving you purpose.

If you don't understand what I mean, I've compiled a simple flowchart to explain it:

Jake, a five-year-old lad from Ghana, became a meme overnight, after a photographer snapped him while doing some schoolwork.

Having lived the dream of being a real life meme, it's beginning to pay dividends for Jake. The guy with the camera who made it all happen, Carlos Corte, was filming a documentary surrounding self-taught artist and philanthropist, Solomon Adufa in the village of Asempanaye when he took the now famous pic.

After the young lad, who is eager to learn, went viral, Solomon set up a GoFundMe page for his education. It has since raised $8,980 (£7,300) of the $20,000 (£16,200) goal. As well as being able to pay for Jake's studies, it will also be able to fund resources for his classmates.

"This money could make a huge difference to the kids - this could be something really positive going forward," Solomon said. "I will be travelling back to Ghana to the village of Asempanaye to continue teaching the children and providing resources.

"Most importantly I would love to help Jake in his education as well as others who are extremely eager to learn."

Jake more than likely has absolutely no clue about all of this, which will hopefully make the big reveal all the more sweet. When he does find out, surrounded by his classmates, it's probable that'll he'll be paraded around his village by his peers, who all see him as a king. The meme king.

What a guy.
