North Korea's 'Hotel of Doom' may finally open its doors after 30 years of construction.

The huge 105 storey Ryugyong Hotel has been under construction since 1987, but has never had a single guest.

The 330m pyramid, which towers over the North Korean landscape, was seen on camera to light up just over a year ago despite being supposedly dormant, and recently the hotel has shown even more signs of life, hinting towards a long awaited grand-opening.

The 3000 room monstrosity was built to include a hotel, casinos and nightclubs right in the middle of Pyongyang, one of the poorest cities under North Korea's dictatorship.

Passers-by have spotted the addition of two new walkways and a large nuclear missile propaganda poster by the hotel, increasing speculation that the creepy hotel might be ready for visitors soon.

Just a day after some of these new features being unveiled, North Korea test-launched another intercontinental ballistic missile.

Construction was started 30 years ago with the help of Kim Jong-Un's grandfather.

Following building issues, the fall of the Soviet Union and a deadly famine which killed over 3.5 million people, the project was put on hold...until now.

For decades, the building was left as a concrete shell with no windows and crooked elevator shafts...doesn't sound like somewhere we'd want to be staying anytime soon.

Orascom, an Egyptian development company has allegedly been involved with recent constructions too.

Although the hotel is definitely impressive to look at, the tangle of bad luck and political issues would hang over guests' heads for sure, and official word on when you might actually be able to book a visit is yet to be released.
