Aldi's New Garlic Dough Balls Are Way Cheaper Than Pizza Express

You could have a Pizza Express standard meal at home for less than a tenner with Aldi's new 'Taste of Italy' range.

If you're feeling the pinch before payday or you're just trying to save the pennies ready for Christmas, Aldi has made it possible to enjoy a Pizza Express-inspired meal at home for a fraction of the price.

The budget supermarket's latest 'fakeaway' product is Carlos Takeaway Garlic Dough Balls, which apparently taste just like the ones you can order as a starter at Pizza Express.

For £1.35, you get 12 dough balls and a pot of garlic butter to dunk them in. That's more than a third cheaper than the popular Pizza Express appetizer. And if you like a generous helping of the garlic dip, they even sell pots of that separately for 49p.

You can also continue the Italian theme into mains and dessert with a range of Carlos Takeaway pizzas starting at £1.59, accompanied by Carlos Takeaway fries at £1.35.

There's also a dessert offering from the Carlos Takeaway range - four Chewy & Gooey Cookies for £1.59, which go great with a scoop or two of ice-cream (or should we say 'gelato').

But if pizza isn't your thing, Aldi has a whole range called 'Taste of Italy,' which includes other Italian favourites such as stuffed tortellini from £1.15, ready to cook meatballs and pasta sauces, and mozzarella sticks - all under £2 each. There are even vegan pizzas and meatballs.

From McDonald's knock-offs and bargain Greggs-inspired bakes to Little Moons mochi ice-cream balls, Aldi is a favourite among the fakeaway crowd.

It's also home to the legendary hanging egg chair, which repeatedly sold out over the summer.

Now, as the colder weather comes in, Aldi is selling a heated hanging clothes airer.

Another thing Aldi is known for is the speedy checkout - sometimes a bit too speedy. One customer was left "shaking and crying" due to the speed of the checkout, but customers have clocked onto a trick to slow them down.
