Elon Musk's girlfriend, Grimes, came to his defence on TikTok after users started commenting on one of her videos - accusing Musk of destroying the planet and questioning why she was with him.
The Canadian musician posted a video to her 129.8k followers which shows her learning to 'sword dance' for a new music video on Sunday. But some of her followers saw it as a way to get at her boyfriend.
One user commented: "Grimesss. How are you doing this and actively sleeping with the man who [is] literally destroy[ing] the planet and humanity."
To which the pop-musician replied, "How is he doing these things? His whole career is about making travel/house power etc sustainable and green."

Grimes was there ready with her answers. She handled the criticism very well. Another user said, "Tell him to end world hunger then."
"[People] keep asking me this but just throwing $ doesn't solve it. He's trying to focus on the issues he knows he can solve and they [are] really essential issues," she replied.
Another user then asked Grimes to confirm that her partner was not "a men's rights activist" after hearing claims that he was on social media. Grimes said: "He's not. Def[initely] he's been very immature at points on Twitter. I wish his actions would match his words, but for most people I wish their words would match their actions haha." In July 2020, Grimes called out Musk about his 'pronouns suck' tweet.
Another wrote, "Bestie who [are] you trying to convince[?]"

"I don't need to convince any-one haha." She replied. "I accept the discourse. I'm just [really] close to it so [sometimes] I try to correct the misconceptions haha." This was the last reply in this thread from the pop-star.
Elon Musk is the founder and chief designer of SpaceX and Tesla, among other businesses. In February 2021, a slump in Tesla shares meant he was no longer the world's richest man.
The 49-year-old has been married three times before and has been in a relationship with Grimes on-and-off since 2018.
