No one really has a clue what's going on with Area 51, do they? There's a million people that are apparently planning on storming the famous US military base that supposedly houses aliens. A plan has been hatched to get in to the highly classified facility using pebbles - fool-proof, we know.
The US Air Force has issued a warning to all the people threatening to attempt to get in (pebbles or not) and one animal welfare centre is suggesting a different course of action - to storm their shelter.
Jumping on the topical bandwagon, OKC Animal Welfare took to Facebook in a bid to encourage people to steer away from Area 51 and get to Oklahoma, US, instead.

They wrote: "Come storm our shelter... We have great animals ready to protect you from the Area 51 aliens. Adoption isn't that far out of this world!"
People can't get enough of the post, which currently has over 1,000 comments and nearly 8,500 shares.
One person wrote: "Congratulations to your team for coming up with this incredible idea to help find homes for these babies. Probably the best marketing idea I have seen! Great job!"

Another said: "Wonderful & creative pictures! You all do a fantastic job in terrible circumstances. Thank you for what you do!"
A third added: "I wept a little inside seeing this post. What a beautiful suggestion. Dogs > Area 51 any day. "
The shelter also added a link to their donations page and in just 24 hours 52 people have raised over $900 (£720).

One curious poster asked how many adoptions they have had since the original post yesterday, to which OKC Animal Welfare responded saying: "We had 22 adoptions yesterday, and although adoptions don't start until noon today, we have high hopes!" Great work, guys.
Despite people melting at the post in general, you might have noticed that the shelter opted to include intergalactic-esque pictures. The adorable dogs are dressed in tin-foil hats with little cartoon aliens to accompany them.
The shelter is open for adoptions every day from noon until 5:30pm and you can search for pets that are available for adoption here.
