Cat Gets Tail Shaved For Surgery And Seriously Weirds Out The Internet

Some people think its backside looks like an elephant, while others are reminded of something less family friendly

A poor cat in Canada has gone viral after its owner posted a video of its shaven, post-surgery look - which was, erm... Well, let's just say it wasn't particularly glamorous.

Yeah, okay, it's just about up there with the weirdest things we've seen on the internet.

You see, I'd say there probably aren't many of you out there who have ever seen what a cat's tail looks like when it has no fur on it - because why would you?

Well, as this bizarre clip proves, there's a reason for that.

The cat's owner, 22-year-old Don Sutherland, posted the footage of his pet on Twitter, writing: "My cat had surgery and they shaved his tail."

Don, who lives in Calgary, Alberta, clearly didn't feel like giving much away with that caption, did he? Talk about an unexpected twist to the tail.

According to a new Instagram page set up for the cat - who's called Aslan, by the way - the moggy had to have part of his tail amputated, but was given an 'unfortunate hair cut' during the process.

Poor Aslan.

His post has racked up 8.4 million views, and more than 160,000 retweets.

And as you can probably imagine, there were some very mixed emotions in the tweet's thread .

Some people thought the cat's backside looked like an elephant:

Yes, an elephant. Sure. That's what we were all thinking, too.

Others just didn't know what the hell was going on, with one person tweeting: "Idk what I was expecting a hairless tail to look like but it sure as hell wasn't that."

Some people thought they'd share snaps of their own pets in similar situations, in a bid to help Aslan feel like he's not alone.

I imagine these guys are wondering why they're getting so many sniggers each time they leave a room...

Right, I think that's enough looking at animal's arses for today.
