A couple heading for the Big Apple were stopped in their tracks when airport security realised that their cat had climbed into their hand luggage.
Nick and Voirrey Coole couldn't believe it when Candy the kitty climbed out of their suitcase ahead of their 40th birthday celebrations in New York.
As they passed through security (already a stressful place to be), the pair were ushered into a side room and quizzed about the discovery, before helpful airport staff organised the cat's collection.

Nick, from the Isle of Man, told the Manchester Evening News that curious Candy is always looking for bags, boxes and other tight spaces to hide inside.
He explained: "Our hand luggage didn't have much in so we could bring shopping home. But Candy, our cat, found a way in and off to the airport we all went.
"Airport security were all very puzzled and repeatedly asked if the bag was ours after it had been through the scanner."
Taking to Facebook, Nick wrote: "You know that feeling, when you get ushered into a side room at airport security because you've got a cat in your hand luggage?" Can't say I do, funnily enough.

He continued: "Candy decided to sneak into our hand bag, thanks Barry and Lorna for picking her up so we can head off on our holiday. Fair play to airport security for helping to get her home so we could catch our flight."
The couple dubbed the staff at Isle of Man airport 'awesome', saying that once they realised it was a genuine mistake they were all able to have a good laugh about it before Candy was picked up by their friends, in order for Nick and Voirrey to catch their flight to the US.
The post on Facebook has amassed over 3,000 reactions and nearly 1,000 shares with people finding the whole thing hilarious.

One wrote: "The cat looks so determined to crash the vacay, tho." Another compared Candy to their own cat, saying: "Thyme gets in every time [we] pack to go somewhere and this is a legitimate fear of mine."
A third commented: "To be honest, I surprised this hasn't happened to me yet."
Better luck next time, Candy.
