A massive new dog cafe will soon be opening in Greater Manchester, UK.

As if the prospect of a venue dedicated to food, drinks and dogs wasn't perfect enough, Alfie's Island Cafe will also be home to dogs up for adoption - meaning you could leave with a full stomach and a new pet.

Heaven IS a place on Earth.

This heavenly house of coffee and canines will be located on a 22-acre site in Timperley and has enough space for 120 covers.

The decor will be guided by a tropical beach theme, hence the name, while the menu will have an American influence, with owners Tony and Tania Golden hailing from the US.

As well as serving up pancakes, burgers, hot dogs and the usual caffeinated beverages, the cafe will also sell beer and wine, which is clearly fantastic.

Beyond the immediate joy of a beer, burger and dog combo, visitors will have the opportunity to commit to an enduring source of happiness by take home a new furry family member.

The owners work with Starlight Barking Trust to bring strays over from Greece and find them forever homes in the UK. Their own dog Alfie, who the cafe is named after, was himself rescued from the country.

Dogs that are available for adoption will stroll about the place with little bandanas on, so you can spot potential pets as you stuff your face.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, owner Tony said: "The dogs get a chance to play outside if they want to, they can play together and sleep together.

"We do really look at things from a scientific side - it's not just about making a play area that looks pretty.

"A lot of dogs will freak out in a kind of warehouse setting, it can mess with their personality. They're so much happier here.

"It's a very big space with a lot of flexibility, and that's what we love about it."

An exact opening date is yet to be confirmed, but the owners 'hope it to be soon'.
