Matt Lucas Shares Emotional Post After Both His Dogs Die Within Weeks
The Little Britain star called his pet 'a thing of wonder"' and described the pain of losing him as 'unthinkable', particularly when the loss of his other furry friend is still so raw.
Anyone who has ever loved and lost a pet knows the pain that he's going through.
Lucas also took the time to pay tribute to his late husband Kevin McGee, who died in 2009, but was the person who convinced the comedian to get pets in the first place.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Lucas wrote: "The unthinkable has happened. In the space of ten weeks both of my beloved dogs have died.
"Dear Milo passed away tonight, after a short battle with cancer. He was nearly 13. Thank you to Kevin for insisting we get a puppy, and to Alex and Craig and Jamie and Emily and Edna and everyone who helped me look after him.
"And apologies if he ever stole your football in the park. There are umpteen punctured, half-eaten footballs at my house, if anyone wants one."
He continued: "Milo, I love you. You and Hob were the greatest friends to me. I'm sorry that you never managed to impregnate your bed. God knows you tried hard enough.
"Rest easy, you magnificent, beautiful, ridiculous, drooling thing of wonder. You will be forever in my heart."
It's no doubt hard to read, especially for those of you with furry friends of your own.
It was only back in November 2019 that Lucas found himself composing the first of his tributes to his dearly departed pooches.
When paying tribute to Hob, he lauded the pooch for his 'loud bark' and added: "Now the house is silent.
"Hob was one of the greatest friends I've ever had,
"Thank you Hobby. I love you."
Alongside the latest tragic post, Lucas also shared a few cute photographs of Milo, including one of him playing with his favourite toy, and another of him when he was only a puppy.
Hopefully the comedian can find solace in some of the nice comments that people have left.
One person wrote: "So sorry to hear that @realmattlucas ! My dog died a few days ago. She was by my side for 19 years. I know exactly how you feel."
Another said: "Oh Matt I'm so sorry. Sending you all the love."
