A dog owner very nearly crushed his beloved Boston terrier after tripping while taking part in a doggy agility course. Check it out:

Dan Haddy and Ripple were absolutely smashing the course at the Westminster Dog Show in New York on Saturday (12 June), with the excited pooch racing through the course and easily taking on the various obstacles.

But then, disaster struck and poor Dan ended up stumbling and falling, missing Ripple by inches.

The faithful pet stopped for a few seconds to check her owner was OK, but was fine to carry on once Dan got up.

In a clip of the incident, the commentator can be heard to say: "Oh my goodness... that was too bad." While a second commentator brands it 'heart-breaking'.

The commentator adds: "They're gonna finish this run out. You could hear the crowd cheering them on."

The pair managed to get through the course and at the end Dan could be seen scooping up Ripple and giving her a hug and a kiss.

In the end a border collie called Verb won the agility round, but I think we can all agree that little Ripple here should have been allowed a re-do thanks to her owner's mishap.

Of course, when it comes to dog shows it's usually our four-legged pals who cause the chaos.

Who can forget the Crufts 2020 Best in Show pooch that decided to go for a poop during her victory lap.

Maisie - a wire-haired dachshund - and her owner Kim took the number one spot in the competition, but it was a number two that really got the crowds talking.

While enjoying her moment in the spotlight, Maisie decided she needed to answer the call of nature and stopped to take a quick poop right in the middle of the ring.

Fortunately, owner Kim had come prepared and was able to whip out a poo bag and clean up after Maisie.

Speaking about her pet's big win, Kim said: "I have to say wow, it's not very believable at this moment.

"It's something you dream of and you don't ever think will happen.

"It's the goal that everyone strives for because Crufts is THE show - it really is, isn't it?

"She just loves her showing, she just loves it. It's such a joy to take her out."
