People Are Shocked As A Monkey Eats A Banana Like A Human

People Are Shocked As A Monkey Eats A Banana Like A Human

Even they can't stand the stringy bits

Have you ever wondered how a monkey might attempt to eat a banana? Well, it's pretty much exactly as you'd imagine, just like humans. But as a new video has shown, it turns out that even they can't stand those stringy bits. Urgh.

In a clip that's been doing the rounds on social media, a mother can be seen peeling a banana while holding her young.

And though you might think a monkey would just chow down as soon as it's been peeled, you'd be wrong.

Instead the mother takes her time to make sure it's free of any of the grim pieces of string that always get caught in your teeth.

So disgusted by them is she that once she's removed them she even makes sure to throw them as far away from her and her baby as possible.

Sure, there's a chance that this may just be a very picky monkey, but you have to admit, it's pretty great. And lots of people seem to agree.

Commenting on the video, one viewer said: "The fact they paused what they were doing to pick up the bit that was stuck on the log amazes me more than it probably should."

A second put: "Just love the way she meticulously removes the stringy bits."

"Anyone else slightly creeped out at how human this is? Like taking the strings off the younger monkey and even getting the string off the wood she was sitting on so it wasn't on her chair?" wrote a third.

While another added: "I love that she hates them so much she doesn't even want that one string at the end on the TRUNK near her never mind on her banana."

This is definitely much more positive monkey-related news than we've had recently.

Earlier this month, a monkey in India has been given the animal kingdom's equivalent of a lifetime sentence, having been moved into his own cage after biting more than 250 people - and also killing one, according to IANS.
