Pet Owner's Dog Left 'Traumatised' After Groomers Made Her Look Like A Clown

Lola only went in for a buzz cut, a quick nail trim and to have her teeth cleaned

When you take your pet to be groomed, there's a level of trust you have to have. Obviously that they'll be kind to your beloved animal, but also that they won't randomly dye their fur in mad colours and shave their eyebrows off.

However, Graziella Puleo, 24, will most likely never trust anyone with her dog again. Speaking to the Palm Beach Post, she said that she'd taken her Goldendoodle Lola to Amore's Pet Salon Dog Grooming Day Care Boarding Spa in Lake Worth Beach.

Requesting the fairly standard treatments of a buzz cut, a quick nail trim and her teeth cleaned, Graziella thought Lola was in safe hands. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, when she went to pick Lola up nine hours later, she realised firstly that her teeth hadn't been cleaned. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The groomer had gone all out on Lola, even deciding to dye her fur - not even anything discreet, only neon green and pink.

Not only had they done her eyebrows in neon green, they'd also weirdly dyed the end of her tail too.

Both of her ears also looked like they'd been dipped in bright pink dye, for some unknown reason. Understandably, Graziella was less than pleased.

Graziella thought they made Lola look like a clown.

"I almost cried," Graziella said. "I was like, 'You dyed my dog's hair?'"

"She looks like you painted on her and were trying to turn her into a clown," she added.

To make matters worse, Graziella said her dog's underside was pink from infection, and she had to be taken to the vet.

The owner of the grooming business apologized and refunded the $150 (£120) Graziella paid, but defended the dye.

"The young lady, she's very sweet. We wanted to make her happy. We beautify the dog... If we see it's missing something, we do colour, sometimes, the dog," said Raquel Adams, who owns the dog salon.

"We did wrong about the color. We should have offered her first."

The dye still hasn't come out of Lola's fur.

Raquel claimed the dog's teeth hadn't been cleaned because she didn't like it, and said the infection was Lola's fault because she kept licking herself.

Writing on Facebook, Graziella said: "It was definitely a traumatising experience for my puppy.

"I hope this grooming service has learned their lesson and no other dog out there has to go through the pain they cause mine.

"So glad it's over, BUT the hair dye still has yet to come out."

Hopefully Lola will be back to her former beautiful self in no time and the salon will think twice before dying dogs without asking their owners in future.
