Finally, some awesome news.

Wildlife experts previously believed that tigers could be extinct by 2022. However, it looks like their numbers are more resilient than previously believed. In fact, by 2022 their numbers could actually double.

At the turn of the decade, there were just 3,200 tigers left according to the Metro.

However, a study in Science Advances has concluded that forest loss in tiger habitats is not as bad as we thought. In fact, if it stays the same their numbers could rise.

In India, tiger numbers have increased by 61% and in Nepal they've risen by 31%.

Tiger lad celebrates diminished likelihood of annihilation by climbing on a bloody car.

Fox News reports that University of Minnesota's Anup Joshi, the lead author of the study, said: "When we did this study, we thought there would be a lot more forest loss because these are some of the fastest growing economies in the world, the tiger range countries.

"What we found was that in most tiger conservation landscapes ... it was pretty intact. That is because the protection is pretty good, the people on the ground are protecting the core tiger reserves."

Great news.
