I've had enough of the world's fucking stupidity. Stupidity and cruelty.
Perhaps we were always this stupid, it's just that our Nokia 3210s weren't up to scratch for recording all of our mindless acts.
So just recently it was reported a shark had died after being dragged out of the water in the Dominican Republic; then there was the dolphin that died because party-goers/arseholes decided it'd be a good idea to get a selfie with it out of the water in Argentina.
And yep, cruelty has happened once more, though this time the animal should recover, thankfully. And, more thankfully, some people were there at the beach who found the actions of others deplorable and moronic and put a stop to it before it was too late.
This time we're in Beirut, Lebanon, at Havana Beach. Instead of beach-goers being wowed by seeing a loggerhead turtle, one prick decided to drag it out, beat it a bit and then, with others, let children ride on top of it. Barbaric behaviour from the adults.

Here is the poor, injured thing, after the ordeal and in the care of professionals:

Now I've lived in other parts of the world where animal cruelty is rife and education a major issue. I once had to stop a kitten getting strangled to death by a little boy while the parents laughed. And when I did save the kitten the father was ready to beat me up for it. True story. But I just don't understand how the notion of not pissing around with an animal is a matter of education; it's pure common sense and decency as humans.
Anyway, according to Green Area International, a group that ultimately helped to save the turtle, it reported that the turtle was beaten by one beach-goer, all for amusement. Animals Lebanon, another group doing stellar work for animal rights in the country, claims one eyewitness saw the beautiful turtle being hit by a stick. Executive Director of Animals Lebanon, Jason Mier, said: "We were not present when the turtle came to shore and have to rely on pictures and accounts of people who were present.

"Luckily, other people were there who did care and stopped this and helped get the turtle to a safe area." Thank fuck for that.
The turtle was injured on his head where he had been struck. This subsequently meant that salt water could enter the bone, too.
Animals Lebanon has put the turtle in a rehabilitation pool and will monitor the progress of the animal.

My message is simple. Stop being cruel to animals for your own personal, sadistic pleasure.
