You Could Get Paid $100 Per Hour Just To Pet Dogs

You might think they are barking mad, but it's actually a stroke of genius.

Being around dogs can be a massively helpful form of therapy. It can cheer you up, calm you down, it's basically great.

Well, what if you knew that you could possibly even improve your bank balance by hanging out with some lovely doggos? Here's your chance.

Firstly, you'll need to be in Texas. Secondly, you'll need to be the successful applicant for an intern position at Mutts Canine Cantina. That's a doggie park in Fort Worth, near Dallas, that happens to serve food and booze.

If that sounds like the best thing ever, let's now visit the fact that they'll also be paying one lucky applicant $100 (£77) an hour to pet their puppies.

They shared the job advert on Instagram and said: "Show us your puppy petting skills! Do you have what it takes to be the first-ever MUTTS Puptern at our brand new location in Fort Worth?

"Post a photo or video by 11/12 that shows us your puppy petting skills and use #MUTTSpuptern and tag @muttscantina for a chance to be hired as our Puptern and get PAID $100 per hour to pet puppies at our new location!

"Creativity is encouraged-- tell us why you're the best fit for the position in your caption!"

There you go. All you have to do is post a photo or video of yourself petting your puppy in a unique or hilarious way (you can think of something, surely?) and this dream job could be yours.

You could become Mutts' first ever, and probably the first overall, professional puppy petter. Try saying that after a few drinks.

The only other criteria are that you must be aged over 18 and not allergic to dogs, although applying for this position if you are allergic to dogs sounds pretty damn close to torture.

The owner of Mutts, Kyle Noonan, gave an interview to ABC News in which he spoke about the ideal candidate, as well as their reasons for offering the post at all.

He said: "We'll pick one person to start and depending, we might have a couple down the road.

"That's if we find enough great candidates."

You can be sure that there will be a lot of applicants for the position. Chances are that a good few of them will be more than up to the task.

Noonan continued: "This is a legit dream internship.

"Just a fun concept where we get to be creative and work outside the box."

Well, that's me off to start a new life in Texas. Goodbye forever.
