Brad Pitt And Barack Obama Are Distant Relatives

Brad Pitt And Barack Obama Are Distant Relatives

Hollywood icon Brad Pitt is distantly related to the former POTUS Barack Obama

Remarkably, Brad Pitt and Barack Obama are both cousins in what sounds like the weirdest/most amazing plot for a comedy flick ever.

It turns out that the Fight Club actor is a distant cousin of the former President of the United States, according to researchers at the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS).

The researchers say the duo are ninth cousins and are linked by Edwin Hickman, who died in Virginia in 1769.

Well, it seems as if Obama was already aware of the weird and wonderful fact as he brought it up when he featured on The View back in 2008.

He was asked: "Are you related to Brad Pitt?" to which the former President replied: "I guess we’re ninth cousins, something removed – or something."

Obama then joked: "I think he got the better-looking side of the gene pool."

Host Barbara Walters immediately responded: "We were saying just before you came out – maybe we shouldn’t say this.

"But we thought you were very sexy looking."

Obama was actually voted as the sexiest politician in the World in 2009, so they weren't wrong.

Back then, a spokesman for www.OnePoll.com said: "Obama is certainly a fit-looking man for his years and his daily regime of swimming and walking or sessions at the gym have seen the political giant shape up for his new role."

If you think!

With regards to another weird high-profile relation - Hillary Clinton and Angelina Jolie are also ninth cousins.

As per Reuters, researchers at NEHGS found they're both related to Jean Cusson, who died in St. Sulpice, Quebec, in 1718.

Clinton, who is of French-Canadian descent on her mother's side, is distant cousins with singers Madonna, Celine Dion and Alanis Morissette.

I'm now wondering if Hillary picked the right profession.

Clinton's senior advisor Philippe Reines said: "You'd think with all that singing talent in the family she'd be able to carry a tune.

"But now it makes much more sense how she snagged a Grammy."

Well, Clinton actually won a best spoken word Grammy in 1997 for "It Takes a Village."

Genealogist Christopher Child said: "It shows that lots of different people can be related, people you wouldn't necessarily expect."
