Van Grinds Along Road Bridge Before Tipping Onto Its Side

A driving instructor caught the shocking moment a van driver came literally inches from death after grinding his vehicle along the edge of a busy road bridge.

The heart-stopping clip shows the driver of the white van involved ina bizarre skateboard-style grind along the bridge, going within inches of falling onto the dual carriageway below.

In the clip, which was filmed in Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire, the van can be seen driving along the road rail and then the edge of the bridge on two wheels after a car drives in close, in an apparent attempt to get onto the slip road, before it tips over and comes to a standstill.

Ian Stinchcombe, who filmed the clip while he was out with a woman undergoing her driving test said: "The car was on a test with a female student driving, and an examiner in the passenger seat.

"The girl saw it in the mirror and was in tears when they got back to the test centre."

Amazingly, despite all that going on, the woman still passed her test. Fair play.

Earlier this month, footage of a driver getting his own back after a fellow motorist refused to let him out went viral.

In the deeply satisfying clip, the driver of a red Corvette refuses to give way and let the driver of Dodge pick-up out. Pretty bloody annoying.

But, rather than getting angry, the drive of the Dodge instead pulls up alongside the Corvette and blasts a thick plume of smoke into the car's open window by revving his engine.

The clip was filmed by a motorist in another car, who can be heard laughing as the incient unfolds - well, it's clear whose side he's on then.

The guy who posted the clip to YouTube explained: "I was driving through traffic near Seattle and noticed a Corvette not wanting to let a Dodge merge over into the lane, so the Dodge pulled beside him,

"As the Corvette driving was rolling down his window and went to flip him off, the Dodge owner coaled him with so much smoke you couldn't even see the driver in the car. He did end up letting the truck over."

So, let that be a lesson to you: don't be a dick, eh?
