Actor Danny Masterson has been charged with multiple counts of rape.
The Los Angeles District Attorney's office has filed the charges against the actor, known for his role in That '70s Show, for offences allegedly committed nearly two decades ago.
KTLA reports that Masterson is accused of raping a 23-year-old woman during 2001, a 28-year-old woman in April 2003, and a 23-year-old woman some time between October and December of the same year.
The District Attorney decided not to pursue charges for two other cases due to the statute of limitations and a lack of evidence, according to Variety.

Masterson's lawyer, Tom Meserau, has released a statement, via Huffington Post, which said: "Mr. Masterson is innocent, and we're confident that he will be exonerated when all the evidence finally comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify.
"Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year-old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out.
"The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and now the allegations to be false."
He faces up to 45 years behind bars, if convicted.

This isn't the first time Masterson has been accused of misconduct. A lawsuit was filed against him last year from four people who accused him of rape.
They also accused the Church of Scientology of stalking and harassing them for going to the police and speaking out about the abuse they had allegedly suffered.
Two and a half years ago, Masterson was fired from the Netflix series The Ranch due to sexual assault allegations against him.
