After their short lived 15 months of marriage, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have settled their divorce, leaving Heard with a colossal seven million dollars to pcoket. Their high profile split was the result of Heard's accusations of emotional and physical abuse from A-list actor Johnny Depp during their marriage, which also included this video of Depp losing his temper.

Heard has stated that she is set to donate the entire settlement equally with American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Children's Hospital LA, the former charity aimed at helping domestic violence victims and the other sick children. Heard explained in her statement that she knows that "these charities will put the money to good use" and she hopes that her donations will result in "positive changes in the lives of the people who need it the most."

The couple's divorce began in May after shocking images were released showing Heard's facial bruising, which is alleged to be the result of an abusive outrage implicated by Depp. Heard then filed for a temporary restraining order against Depp after a purported fight between the couple in their Los Angeles apartment.

Previous to the leak of the images, Depp had formerly accused Heard of having an intimate affair with 61-year-old actor Billy Bob Thornton. Depp had allegedly sliced his finger in order to write the statement on a mirror in a blood/pain mixture while he was filming in Australia earlier this year.

If you fancy reading Heard's statement after the settlement in full, here it is.

"As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves.

As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated. This is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future.

The donation will be divided equally between the ACLU, with a particular focus to stop violence against women, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where I have worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years alongside organisations like the Art of Elysium. Over the years, I have seen firsthand how more funding for staffing, better equipment and better medication can make the difference between life or death for a child.

I know these organisations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most."
