For the first time in 18 years, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have taken to the red carpet hand in hand, cementing their official relationship status.

Posing for pictures together on Friday evening, the Hollywood power couple appeared at a screening of Affleck's latest flick, The Last Duel in Venice, Italy.

Their arrival put an end to weeks of speculation about whether they would attend the event together after they made their reunion Instagram-official in July, following Lopez's high-profile split from her then-fiancée Alex Rodriguez earlier this year.

Lopez and her baseball star fiancée were on and off for a number of months before the pair finally called it quits in April.

Just weeks after the big break-up, old flame Affleck was spotted visiting Lopez's Los Angeles mansion, as per Vulture, which is what triggered a media frenzy and fans were quick to start speculating a rekindled romance between the pair.

The couple first got together back in 2002, getting engaged in November of that year and quickly establishing themselves as one of Hollywood's pre-eminent power couples, earning themselves the couple nickname 'Bennifer' before later calling off their engagement in 2004.

Well, any lingering doubts that the couple were back on were well-and-truly put to bed on Friday night as Lopez sauntered onto the carpet decked out in a stunning low-cut Georges Hobeika gown; her neck dripping with jewels from Cartier and Affleck's hand wrapped tightly around her waist.

Although the couple made no public remarks (apart from a cheeky kiss in front of the cameras) as they made their way inside, their presence alone was enough to steal the show.

The night also marked a different kind of reunion for Affleck, who co-wrote the film's script alongside his best friend and co-star Matt Damon; the first time the two of them had written together since their Oscar-winning breakthrough Good Will Hunting in 1997.

Based on actual events, The Last Duel centres on an accusation by Marguerite de Carrouges (Jodie Comer), the wife of Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon), that Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) sexually assaulted her.

The fate of all three must be decided in a duel to death.

Prior to getting glammed up, the stars were spotted enjoying some quiet one-on-one time on the balcony of their hotel before being escorted to the event in a private speedboat.

Not a bad date night, all things considered!
