Caitlyn Jenner Slams Restaurant For Refusing Her Entry Over Ripped Jeans

Caitlyn Jenner has slammed the Beverly Hills Hotel after she was refused service due to a pair of ripped jeans that she was wearing.

The reality TV star was hoping to eat at the hotel's restaurant, the Polo Lounge, which TMZ said has become a hotspot in recent years for lunch and dinner among young people in Hollywood.

Although the dress code only 'encourages' people to refrain from casual wear, it seems the small tear in Jenner's jeans were enough to get her turned away.

Expressing her anger over the incident on her Instagram Story, the 72-year-old shared a picture of the rip on her trousers, writing: "@bevhillshotel f*** your horrible service for not letting me have lunch with this tiny rip in my jeans. Shame on you. Disgusting."

She added, "I have been a patron for decades. No longer," alongside a tag of the hotel's parent company, Dorchester Collection.

But the online rant didn't stop there.

A representative for the Polo Lounge told TMZ: "Please see our dress code policy which is stated on our website and provided to every guest when they make a reservation with us."

The dress code policy states: "At the Polo Lounge, we encourage you to dress for the occasion, so we ask that you refrain from wearing casual hats, ripped denim, crop tops, nightwear, swimwear, and men's sleeveless shirts."

In another Instagram Story, Jenner shared screenshots of the TMZ report, circling the restaurant's statement and writing: "Interesting it says 'we encourage'... so it doesn't say it's a mandatory dress code."

A source who's close to the former Olympian explained to the publication why the incident had upset Jenner so much.

They said she was 'caught off guard', particularly as she was dressed in full hair and makeup for the occasion and her jeans were 'more distressed denim than ripped jeans'.

In addition, Polo Lounge staff reportedly hadn't enforced the 'no photos' policy when Jenner was taking snaps with fans, which is why she was all the more surprised when they did decide to use the dress code against her.

The Beverly Hills Hotel's policy surrounding photographs is outlined on the company's website, stating: "For the privacy of our guests, we ask that you refrain from taking photographs."
