Chris Hemsworth Offers Free Home Workouts To Keep People Fit During Coronavirus Pandemic

Chris Hemsworth has stepped up during the coronavirus pandemic to help people stay fit for free.

His fitness and nutrition app, Centr, will be free for everyone for the next six weeks.

The Australian government has ordered loads of non-essential services, such as gyms, to close amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result, loads of people who are either self-isolating or working from home are in need of something to do within the confines of their home, in order to stay fit.

Luckily, Chris has delivered the goods just when we need it the most.

You just have to sign up to Centr's website from today (23 March) until 31 March and you'll get access to hundreds of workouts and recipe ideas on the app.

The Thor actor hopes the offer will give people a break as they're learning to deal with new rules about where we can and can't go.

He posted a video on Instagram, where he said: "We have been incredibly inspired by the outpouring of support and positivity from the Centr community during this challenging time.

"We hope that by making Centr available to everyone for this extended period, we can help even more people stay strong, healthy and find a sense of calm at a time when we all need that the most.

"A lot of fear, a lot of anxiety, a lot of uncertainty in the world at the moment. You're probably stuck at home so I wanted to give everybody full access for free to my fitness app for the next six weeks.

"This app was designed to give people an opportunity to access the team that I have used over the years that have had a profoundly positive impact on my life.

"In times like this when there's a lot of uncertainty running through your head a lot of questions I find it's even more important than usual to concentrate on your movement, your physical activity, your exercise, your nutrition, what you put in your body, what we eat and also our mental fitness, our mental game staying positive."

But it's not just workouts and recipes on Centr, you can also access information about nutrition, chefs, meditation teachers, and sleep visualisations.

Gyms were among the non-essential services included in the Australian government's ban, which kicked into gear today (23 March).

Also on the list are pubs, cinemas, places of worship, theatres, casinos, nightclubs and indoor sporting venues.

All other people are still able to go to work as long as their industry or trade has been specified by the Prime Minister. You should still practice social distancing where possible.
