Chris Hemsworth has been kind enough to show us how to stay fit while using everyday items found around the home.

Millions of people have been staying at home over the past few weeks to avoid catching or spreading the coronavirus.

By now, many will have bought exercise equipment to remain strong and healthy during the pandemic.

However, if you haven't managed to get some resistance bands or a full-on bench system, then you're in luck.

The Thor actor has posted a video to his Instagram showing how you can do a decent workout with things that you probably already have at home.

Hemsworth says dumbells are usually the best but understands that that can set you back a decent bit of money. So he got 'creative' for his at-home workout and filled washing detergent bottles with water.

You can use them for tricep extensions, bicep curls, shoulder press and any other myriad of exercises.

The Australian actor used a chair for dips and even a laundry basket full of clothes to do weighted squats.

The short, three-minute exercise he does with trainer Luke Zocchi is perfect for people who might be restricted in terms of their exercise routines.

Hemsworth has allowed people to access his fitness app for six weeks for free because of the pandemic.

If users sign up on the website by April 6, they can get loads of similar workouts, recipes for healthy meals and even meditation exercises.

"We hope that by making Centr available to everyone for this extended period, we can help even more people stay strong, healthy and find a sense of calm at a time when we all need that the most," Hemsworth said.

"A lot of fear, a lot of anxiety, a lot of uncertainty in the world at the moment. You're probably stuck at home so I wanted to give everybody full access for free to my fitness app for the next six weeks.

"This app was designed to give people an opportunity to access the team that I have used over the years that have had a profoundly positive impact on my life."

While a lot of the workouts require some type of exercise equipment, Chris' video shows there are loads of things lying around your home that could work instead.

He's also making meditation sessions on Centr available for kids.

They range from sleep visualisation to positive thoughts and are aimed at children between the ages of four and 10.

"I thought this is not going to work, my kids are allergic to sitting down," Hemsworth said in another video on Instagram.

"But to my surprise, it actually worked and it did calm them down."

So, if you need some help staying fit during this pandemic, have a look around your home and see what you can use.
