Demi Lovato has revealed that the night she relapsed, she used drugs she'd never tried before, while admitting that she isn't fully sober.

Speaking in her new documentary, Dancing With the Devil, the 28-year-old spoke out about the first time she relapsed in 2018.

She said: "I picked up a bottle of red wine that night, and it wasn't even 30 minutes before I called someone that I knew had drugs on them. I'm surprised I didn't OD that night."

She explained: "I ended up at a party. I just so happened to run into my old drug dealer from six years before - and the odds of that happening was crazy - and he had a duffel bag, and I just went to town. I went on a shopping spree."

She admitted: "I tried meth. I mixed it with molly, with coke, weed, alcohol, Oxycontin. And that alone should've killed me.

"It was only two weeks before I was introduced to heroin and crack cocaine. I started using recreationally, and obviously, you can't do that with heroin before you become addicted to it."

Three months after she relapsed, Lovato was tragically found unconscious at home after accidentally overdosing. She had suffered a heart attack and three strokes, and woke up in the hospital legally blind.

Demi says that after that, although she is 'done with the stuff that's going to kill me', she still drinks alcohol and smokes weed.

She said: "Telling myself that I can never have a drink or smoke marijuana, I feel like that's setting myself up for failure because I am such a black and white thinker. I had it drilled into my head for so many years that one drink was equivalent to a crack pipe."

In the new docu-series, the singer also made a shocking admission that her drug dealer sexually assaulted her and left her to die on that fateful night in July 2018.

In a clip, she said she had been 'taken advantage of', adding: "I didn't just overdose. I was taken advantage of."

Sirah Mitchell, a friend of the star, spoke of the dealer's horrific act just prior to her overdose, saying he had given her heroin 'laced with fentanyl'.

"He also ended up getting her really high and leaving her for dead," Mitchell said

Demi explained: "When they found me, I was naked, blue. I was literally left for dead after he took advantage of me.

"When I woke up in the hospital, they asked if we had had consensual sex. There was one flash that I had of him on top of me. I saw that flash and I said yes.

"It wasn't until a month after the overdose that I realised, 'You weren't in any state of mind to make a consensual decision.'"
