Duane 'Dog' Chapman - better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter - has hit headlines after he rescued Tiger Wood's ex from a drug den in Las Vegas.

Dog and an armed team raided the house where Jamie Jungers was present. She was placed into handcuffs and taken from the property.

According to Dog the woman 'would have died within a few weeks' if they hadn't have rescued her when they did.

The former underwear model was handed over to cops in Vegas and has since been jailed on drug and fugitive justice charges.

In an interview with Radar Online, Dog said the woman weighed just over six stone (40kg) when they found her.

"The handcuffs wouldn't even go on her wrists because they were so skinny," he said. "She was going to die in the next few weeks.

"These guys were holding her in a house where she was giving sexual favours for drugs. She told me she was trading drugs for sex with guys at four or five houses."

The TV bounty hunter hasn't got such a squeaky-clean past himself, however, and has had a fair few of his own brushes with the law in the past, including a first-degree murder conviction.

Sixty-five-year-old Dog, who has been married five times and has 12 children, was arrested in 1976 after his friend accidentally shot and killed Jerry Oliver, 69, an alleged drug dealer and pimp, during a fight over a drug deal.

Although not directly involved, under Texas rules Dog was still charged - and later convicted - for first degree murder. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

As a result of his conviction Dog is banned from entering the UK, which put the kibosh on plans for him to star in Celebrity Big Brother in 2012. He's also prohibited from owning a firearm, which is why in the show you'll see him brandishing a taser.

Dog found himself in hot water again in 2007 when a leaked phone call revealed him using the n-word when referring to his son Tucker's black partner.

In an apology he vowed that he would learn from this mistake for 'the rest of my life'. The show was suspended by A&E, but eventually reinstated, however, it would only last for two more seasons before it got the axe again.

Dog, who is worth a reported £5 million, is now settled with wife Beth, who appeared in the show with him.
