Someone Made A Video Game Out Of Logan Paul’s ‘Suicide Forest’ Video

There was no shortage of criticism aimed at YouTuber Logan Paul when he uploaded a video about suicide. But it wasn't about prevention or awareness (even though he claimed the latter to be the inspiration for the 15-minute clip) it was about him and his buddies heading into a Japanese forest and filming the body of a person who had taken their own life.

Paul received messages from virtually anyone with a keyboard and when into self-imposed exile for a few weeks - which is a big deal for his channel considering he produces a video every day. He eventually admitted it was wrong in every way and apologised profusely.

So, you'd think that would be the last time we'd ever have to hear about the condemned video?

Well, some twisted individual or group thought it would be cool or funny to make a video game inspired by that footage on the Xbox Creators Program.

The online platform allows developers to create games quickly and according to their website they can 'publish their games to Xbox One and Windows 10, with a simplified certification process and no concept approval required'.

TT Games' global community manager, Bear Parker was one of the first to see the game on the platform and other footage has been uploaded to social media to of people playing the game.

Users get to play as Logan Paul and you get to wander through the Aokigahara (the Japanese forest where Paul's video was filmed) looking for people who have taken their own lives.

Yes - you read that right.

You literally play a 22-year-old character hunting for suicide victims, complete with some of the catchphrases that arose from that video.

People who saw pictures or footage of the video game on social media were equal parts horrified and disgusted.

Thankfully, according to Polygon, the game has been removed from Microsoft's catalogue, with the company telling the news site: "This content violates our Store policies and we have removed it."

Shockingly, this isn't the first time someone thought it would be brilliant to piggyback off one of the worst videos in YouTube history. An app was uploaded to the Google Play Store, titled Logan Paul: Suicide Forest Run.

The person who designed the game told Daily Dot: "The main idea of my game was to show in a sarcastic way the reason Logan Paul went to the suicide forest. The real reason [was] to get views, [and this] was intended to be sort of a meme game.

"Never thought it would get this much success. I heard it got 9 in U.S. Google Play rank, but I'm not sure. I didn't set up ranking tools and app analytics, because never thought it would get this popular."

Can we just all agree that no one should make anything related to Logan Paul's horrendously tone deaf video ever again?
