Grimes Photographed Reading Karl Marx Following Split From Elon Musk

Grimes has been photographed reading Karl Marx following her split from Elon Musk.

The singer and the billionaire had been together for a few years, and had baby X AE A-XII together in May 2020.

But last week, Musk confirmed that the couple had 'semi-separated', and Grimes is now seemingly looking into a different way of life.

Having ended her relationship with one of the richest men in the world (Musk and Bezos intermittently swap the top spot), the 33-year-old has apparently taken an interest in communism.

In a series of bizarre photos, Grimes - real name Claire Boucher - can be seen thumbing through The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx in downtown Los Angeles, all the while dressed like some kind of Star Wars character.

Presumably, she is trying to send some kind of message here, but it's a bit weird.

It's all the more weird, given Musk said they have semi-parted on good terms.

In a statement to Page Six last Friday (24 September), Musk said: "We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms.

"It's mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA.

"She's staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room."

Meanwhile, Grimes said she was planning on setting up a lesbian space commune.

She said: "I'll be colonizing [one of Jupiter's moons] Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune."

One thing's for sure - it will be astonishing if X AE A-XII grows up to be dull.

The baby was originally set to be named X Æ A-12, but they were forced to change it to something a touch more mainstream because it didn't comply with Californian law.

Speaking to Joe Rogan about the choice of name, Musk said: "First of all, my partner is the one who, mostly, actually came up with the name. I mean it's just X, the letter X. And then the Æ is, like, pronounced 'ash'... yeah... and then A-12 is my contribution."

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Musk was previously married to author Justine Wilson, with whom he has five sons - twins Griffin and Xavier, 17, and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai, 15.

He was also twice married to actor Talulah Riley, who he married in 2010 before they divorced in 2012 - only to remarry in 2013 and once again divorce in 2016.
