Kevin Hart has responded to the backlash after he called his daughter a 'hoe' - defending his joke and saying he will not apologise.

Hart caused a stir with a joke from his Netflix stand-up special Zero F***s Given.

In the special, Hart said: "A week goes by, 'Dad, I don't like Rob no more. I like this boy named Tim.'

"Instantly, in my mind, I said, 'My daughter a hoe. This is hoe s***. This is hoe s***. Hoe activity right in front of my face.'"

Hart's joke was criticised on the Clubhouse app on Friday, where he was accused of bringing down black women and demeaning his daughter.

But in a post to his Instagram today, Hart defended his joke and said he wouldn't be apologising.

In the clip, he says: "We've got to stop. Stop with the false narrative, it's a false narrative that's being created.

"If you were in the Clubhouse and a part of the conversation, this wasn't about black women. It wasn't about me going against black... stop!

"The question was asked about the joke about my daughter and me referencing my daughter having hoe-like activity. I gave an answer to it.

"Here's what it is, guys: I'm not calling my daughter a hoe. I'm saying what she did is hoe-like activity.

"I called three former hoes I know and asked them, 'Is this hoe-like activity?' We had a conversation about it a good back and fourth. There was never a 'black woman and black man'. Never.

"Stop with the false narratives and the clickbait and the back-and-forth."

He then went on to say that there was no other way to promote his latest special due to the pandemic, explaining that he can't go out and appear on talk shows or pull off other public stunts.

He added: "I have no other way to market or promote, except to go viral. I have to create conversations, generate back and fourth. That's the marketing and promotion attached to my special.

"It's common sense, marketing and promotion - that's why I was in Clubhouse."

He captioned the clip: "Zero F***s Given. Relax... Go watch Zero F***s Given Now on Netflix @netflixisajoke

"Let me make this clear.....THIS IS NOT AN APOLOGY....this is common sense.....also THIS IS WHY I MADE THIS SPECIAL!!!! This is why....now go stream that bitch!!!!!

"Let's goooooo #ItsComedyNotPolitics."

Zero F***s Given is streaming on Netflix now.
