TV presenter Martin Roberts' 14-year-old dog Mylo has sadly died.

The Homes Under The Hammer host, who also appeared in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here in 2016, shared the bad news on Twitter today. Martin had also appeared on Sport Relief with his beloved pet.

He revealed to his 25k followers that his Golden Retriever Mylo had to be put down after suffering two strokes, following vet's advice.

Writing on Twitter, 57-year-old Martin said: "Such an unbearably sad day. Mylo, my 14-year-old Golden Retriever has recently suffered two strokes, and on the advice of the vet he's just been put to sleep.

"If you've ever lost a pet you'll know how I feel right now. Heartbroken. Rest in peace my faithful friend."

He shared a picture of majestic looking Mylo sitting happily on a beach.

Fans sent messages of support to Martin's tweet.

One follower wrote: "Sorry to hear that Martin. They certainly are man's best friend. No matter what kind of day you've had they're always behind the door when u get in waggling their tail happy to see you.

"You just gotta think he's had 14 years of a good life and been treated well, others aren't so lucky."

Another kindly commented: "So she to hear this, Martin. The right end decision has been made in Mylo's best interests, but that doesn't make it any less heartbreaking for you and your family. Been there several times. Hugs."

A third replied: "So sad to hear this. We lost our Cavalier King Charles earlier this year after 12 years. I thought my heart would break in two. It does get easier, but they are such a part of our lives aren't they and a joy to have in them."

RIP Mylo.
