Monday was a normal day for most of us, but for Michael McIntyre it was a school run with a twist. If you didn't know already the comedian was mugged after he picked his son up.

McIntyre, who we know all too well for skipping around the stages of his tours like a kid, was forced by a knife-wielding thief to hand over his £15,000 ($20,114) Rolex watch in a London moped attack.

But it seems the 42-year-old is back to his self as he's been cracking some cringe banter to journalists.

McIntyre, who was left visibly shaken after the 10-second attack, told reporters outside his Hampstead mansion this morning: "The show must go on. I'm not sure if I'm going to arrive there on time, but I'm going to get a new watch later."

He added: "We're carrying on, but I could do with not driving this car at the minute. Anyway, it's all fixed."

The comic had been parked outside his son's school in north London on Monday at around 2pm when two masked men broke into his Range Rover with a hammer, giving the protective glass of the windows what for.

Once they'd gained access, the men, who arrived on a moped with no registration plates, ripped his Rolex from his wrist and escaped.

McIntyre was seen afterwards comforting his son who is believed to have been sat in the passenger seat of the luxury 4x4.

Thankfully, neither the funnyman nor his young son were harmed in the attack.

Following the scary experience, McIntyre - who had fallen out of the driver's door of his car while trying to fight off his attackers - told Mail Online: "I can't really say what's happening, we're in the process of sorting this out. There's been an incident and we're dealing with it.

"I need to find out the best thing to do here, I can't say anything. This is not a wind up, it's ongoing and I can't share the details."

One witness said: "The guy at the front of the moped started to hit the driver's window about ten to 15 times and it eventually just cracked.

"He opens the door and gets Michael McIntyre out of the car. Michael fell but he was still trying to put up a fight."

Now, just two days on from the attack, the funnyman has confirmed that he will be performing on Thursday night in Dublin for the next gig in his 104-date 'Big World Tour'.
