Pete Davidson Says Someone Should 'Slam' His Mum

He said it might help to get her off his back

Ordinarily, when people mention mums and 'slamming' in the same sentence, it isn't their own mum they're referencing.

But Saturday Night Live cast member and former fiance of Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson, has reversed the whole mum slamming paradigm by encouraging others to 'slam' his mum.

Appearing on Netflix series, Dressing Funny, Tan France - from Queer Eye - asked the 25-year-old whether his mum was dating anyone, to which he replied: "I'm trying to get her to."

France then asked Davidson how he felt about his mum dating, at which point things escalated.

He said: "I don't care... Someone should slam her. Seriously, she's been, like, not with anybody since, like, my dad died.

"Someone needs to get up in that and get that lady off my back."

There's quite a lot to unpack in that quote, so let's get started.

Davidson's dad was a firefighter who tragically died battling the blaze at the World Trade Centre caused by the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Despite his success, Davidson still lives with his mum in a house in Staten Island, New York - hence the whole 'get that lady off my back' thing.

Discussing what it's like living with her, he said they still have some of the same awkward encounters they had 10 years ago.

Davidson used to be engaged to Ariana Grande.

He said: "I know what people think. They see you on TV and magazines and stuff and they think, 'That guy must have a place'. Nope.

"When you're 15 and your mum catches you [masturbating], it's just embarrassing. When you're 25 and your mum catches you masturbating, it's like, 'This should not have happened. Who just walks into the kitchen without knocking?'"

So if you ever end up living with Pete, make sure you knock before going in the kitchen and make sure you wash your fruit before you eat it.

Speaking on Saturday Night Live, Davidson has previously discussed the difficulty with addressing men in his house.

He said: "It's weird living with my mum and sister, because I'll see a strange dude in the house and I don't know if he's some dirt-bag preying on my sister or the saint who's going to take my mum off my hands."

... Seems life is much more straightforward when you don't wish for somebody to slam your mum.
