Ryan Reynolds Trolls Blake Lively In 'Airport Bathroom Sex' Mother's Day Post

You may have flown into a panic over the weekend after spotting a load of Mother's Day posts on your social media feeds and thinking, 'S***, I've got nothing'.

That's because they celebrated the occasion yesterday (Sunday 9 May) on the other side of the pond (don't worry, you've got until next March in the UK), and Ryan Reynolds typically decided to inject a bit of humour into a tribute to his wife, Blake Lively.

Together, the couple have three daughters and the 44-year-old began his homage to his wife, 11 years his junior, with heartfelt and affectionate words.

He said: "It can't be said enough... you're the heart and soul of every moment this family shares. I'm grateful for the light and for the kindness you smuggle into each and every second of our lives.

"I see you in the eyes of our children... Every laugh. Every blink and every thoughtful moment of vulnerability. The tender grit it takes to be a mother in 2021 is an act of pure strength and heroism."

Touching stuff, I'm sure you'll agree.

But Reynolds fans - as well as Lively, no doubt - knew a shift in tone was coming.

The post continued: "Never could I have predicted anonymous airport bathroom sex would lead to this. Or how you'd hire Dog The Bounty Hunter to find me.

"Either way, I'm lucky to reflect a little of the sunlight you shine on all of us. Happy Mother's Day, my love."

The post has received almost five million likes, with many people pre-empting and appreciating the special blend of compliments and bants.

One person commented: "Reading like 'awwweee this is so sweet...... oh.... there he is...'"

Another said: "Lowkey I would've been disappointed if you didn't include jokes in this heartfelt message."

A third added: "Even in a heartfelt message about mothers day this man can be hilarious as well. Goddamn."
