Seth Rogen has been slammed on Twitter following his comments in response to YouTuber Casey Neistat's car being burgled.

It all started when Neistat was understandably fuming to discover that his car had been broken into while in Los Angeles, with several items going missing.

In a tweet about the incident, the 40-year-old didn't hold back on his thoughts about Los Angeles.

He said: "So our cars got robbed this morning because Los Angeles is a crime riddled 3rd world s***hole of a city but tremendous appreciation and gratitude to the hardworking officers at the @LAPDWestLA who not only arrested the motherf***er but they got all of our stolen goods back."

So, yeah, pretty angry but maybe calling LA a 'crime riddle 3rd world s***hole of a city' might be overstepping it. Seth Rogen certainly thought so.

Replying to his tweet, the actor wrote: "Dude, I've lived here for over 20 years. You're nuts haha. It's lovely here. Don't leave anything valuable in it. It's called living in a big city."

A fair point from Seth and generally it's a no-brainer not to leave anything valuable in your car. You can't begrudge the man for being annoyed though, right?

This was a point Neistat made, replying: "I can still be mad tho right? feel so violated."

Rogen, though, was dismissive of this, saying: "You can be mad but I guess I don't personally view my car as an extension of myself and I've never really felt violated any of the 15 or so times my car was broken in to.

"Once a guy accidentally left a cool knife in my car so if it keeps happening you might get a little treat."

"I didn't get any treats," Neistat replied. "He just took the decorations for my daughters 7th birthday party and left bloody hand prints. serious question; how did you get your car broken into 15 times?"

Rogen replied: "I lived in West Hollywood for 20 years and parked on the street."

He added: "Also it sucks your s*** was stolen but LA is not some s***hole city. As far as big cities go it has a lot going for it."

Clearly Seth loves LA.

Twitter users have hit out at Rogen in the comments, accusing him of being out of touch.

One wrote: "Out of touch because he thinks everyone is wealthy and can afford to just have their car broken in to.

"I don't know how much money you've got in the bank but is it enough to have your car broken into 15 times?"

Another said: "When people talk about celebrities being disconnected from the reality of normal people, this is what they are talking about, @Sethrogen. I get it, you're trying to be Mr. Nice Guy, but you're really being Mr. Snootypants."

A third said: ".@Sethrogen be like: 'Let yourself be robbed if you have a lot of money.'"

Another added: "Casey complained about getting his car broken into and Seth Rogen showed up to let him know that actually getting your s*** took is a fun part of living in LA.

"Somebody should inform him that LA is in the middle of a crime/murder surge he doesn't have to deal with."
