Seth Rogen's dad has said that smoking weed was a 'miracle' for his son, saying it helped his undiagnosed ADHD and Tourette's.

In an interview with the New York Times, which was published on 4/20, Seth and his dad Mark Rogen spoke out about the drug and how useful it was for his teenage son.

Speaking to the publication, Mark said: "We had him on a strict diet that helped keep him in balance, but it wasn't 100 percent. Marijuana finally made his cells relax."

The Pineapple Express actor explained: "It's just a tool we use to make our experience more palatable, and some people need those tools a lot more than others."

He added: "For me, it's like shoes. For you, it might be like sunglasses. Not everyone's the same. If someone doesn't need to smoke weed? Great. It's the same as someone telling me they don't wear glasses.

"Mazel tov! You don't wear glasses. I do!"

The 39-year-old actor, comedian and writer is famously fond of the drug has even started his own weed company, Houseplant.

The company, based in Toronto, offers different strain of dried flower cannabis, softgel capsules and pre-rolled joints in stores across Canada.

As well as his attention issues, Rogen also had a mild case of Tourette's syndrome.

His mum, Sandy, told the New York Times: "I knew when he was four that he would not be able to sit in school."

When he had night terrors and tantrums, they were advised to change his diet.

Sandy said: "We took him off dairy, wheat, sugar, yeast - everything good.

"But he was still in trouble at school, finding it hard to sit still."

Mark added: "He was really smart and could take things teachers said and twist them against them, making the class laugh at them and embarrassing them."

Sandy added that Seth would "make some teachers cry - but one of his favourite teachers used to tell us she had to send him out of the classroom because he was making her laugh so hard."
