Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard recently revealed the dark side of fame from his own experiences of being 'followed' by 'relentless' fans of the show.

The now 17-year-old claims that he was just 13 when incidents started to crop up as he was trying to go about his normal teenage life.

Speaking to Mastermind magazine, he said: "When I was 13, some adults followed me back to my condo when I was shooting It.

"Stranger Things had just come out, and I was by myself. As I walked faster, they walked faster, and I was getting a bit antsy by the time I got to the door. Suddenly, they were like, 'Hey, dude, can we get a selfie?' And I was like, 'No you can't have a selfie! How about don't follow children?'"

Recalling another incident, Finn added: "I also had my taxi followed and, out of the taxi, the person continued to be pretty relentless."

This isn't the only cast member of Stranger Things that has complained about the reaction from fans. Millie Bobby Brown took her 16th birthday as an opportunity to call for change.

She referred to moments she's been 'frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity'.

Hopefully things won't get worse for the cast when Stranger Things 4 drops on Netflix. The trailer for the upcoming season was shared last month and it confirmed the speculation surrounding Jim Hopper.

Fans couldn't quite contain their excitement, with one announcing: "HOPPER IS ALIVE," while another said: "DID YOU GUYS REALLY JUST DROP THIS ON US LIKE THAT".

Someone else wrote: "HOPPER IS ALIVE, I TOLD YOU ALL," and one fan commented: "OOOOOOOMMMGGGG! HOOOOPPER COME BACK!!!!"

It doesn't look like they're calling it a day any time soon either as Netflix confirmed the show's directors, the Duffer Brothers, have many more stories in the pipeline.

Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix, explained: "The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we're thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love.

"We can't wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down."
