Tom Cruise Visited UK Curry House And Loved It So Much He Placed Unusual Order

Tom Cruise treated himself to two curries in a single sitting while in Birmingham - fairly impressive, if you ask me.

The 59-year-old star tucked into two chicken tikka masalas at Asha's restaurant on Saturday.

Cruise was said to be delighted with the dish, that after eating one he immediately reordered and himself another. Fair play.

After his bumper meal, the actor was even happy to pose for a smiling photo with the restaurant's staff.

Owners of Asha's tweeted a photo of Tom outside with staff and wrote: "It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Tom Cruise to Asha's Birmingham yesterday evening.

"Tom ordered our famous Chicken Tikka Masala and enjoyed it so much that as soon as he had finished, he ordered it all over again - the greatest compliment."

According to Asha's, their £19.45 chicken tikka masala consists of 'tandoori chicken tikka cooked to perfection in chunky tomato and onion gravy'. And it now comes with Cruise's seal of approval.

According to the restaurant, Cruise rocked up in a group of five and ordered a selection of dishes, with the actor opting for the chicken tikka masala.

After sharing the photo online, there was some speculation about whether it was in fact Cruise or a lookalike.

However, Asha's general manager Nouman Farooqui told the BBC it was '100 percent' the Mission: Impossible star.

He said: "I came to check everything was okay, and I was right next to him, so I knew it was Tom Cruise."

Farooqui said that despite being 'star struck' meeting the Hollywood star, he was a 'polite, humble, down-to-Earth man'.

Cruise is currently filming the latest Mission: Impossible film in Birmingham with co-star Hayley Attwell.

The actor has been causing quite a stir as he's been spotted out and about at Grand Central shopping centre doing a bit of filming.

Shopper Maxine Thawley told the BBC: "We saw lights and lots of people with cameras, and we couldn't work out what was going on.

"We walked past and had a coffee and realised it was Tom Cruise.

"I am excited to watch the film so I can say I was walking past when they were filming that scene."
