A mum who gave her two-year-old daughter her mobile phone to play with ended up with a brand-new three-piece sofa after her little girl inadvertently did some online shopping.

Isabella McNeil, from San Diego, had been browsing online for a new couch, when her little girl Rayna pipped up asking: "Mama, phone. Mama, phone."

Thankfully, mum Isabella saw the funny side.

Unable to resist her adorable daughter, she handed over the phone and thought no more of it, until a few days when she got an email from Amazon to tell her her new $430 (£351) couch was on the way.

Isabella told NBC San Diego: "I said, 'What? My couch has shipped? I didn't remember ordering a couch.'"

The mum-of-two initially thought she must have ordered it by mistake - or even in her sleep - before it dawned on her that she had passed the phone to Rayna while the app was open.

Thanks to Amazon's handy one-click and buy function, little Rayna was able to place an order no bother.

Before she even had a chance to ponder how she could go about cancelling the order, ever-efficient Amazon had already dropped off the new sofa.

The sofa arrived in a huge cardboard box, which was quickly looked over by Rayna. However, Isabella knew she couldn't keep the piece of furniture and started pricing up how much it would cost to ship back to the e-tailer.

After doing the sums, Isabella found it would set her back almost £150, so she decided to try and flog it online instead.

Sharing the original posting of the couch on her Facebook page, she wrote: "Brand new in box. Ordered it by mistake, my toddler actually did...darn buy with 1 click on Amazon. Anyway, it's more of a hassle to ship back, so I'll take a loss."

While, Isabella was appreciative of Rayna's taste for interior design, she did add: "It cost a lot more than I would ever pay for a couch."

But alls well that ends well, and when Amazon heard about the bizarre situation, they offered a full refund and told her she can either keep the couch or donate it to charity.

They've also disabled the one-click to buy feature on her account, which is definitely for the best.

Speaking to NBC San Diego, Isabella issued a warning to other busy parents, saying: "Make sure all of the apps are closed. Make sure your passwords are fingerprint-lock."

Good advice.
