When you're playing a game of Hide and Seek, the aim is to be really, really good at staying hidden. But what happens if you think you've found the perfect hiding spot without realising the game was well and truly over.

That's what's happened to a bunch of troops in Lithuania.

Soldiers attached to the country's Žemaitija Motorised Infantry Brigade were trying to complete a graduation exam for the reconnaissance troops, according to the Lithuanian Radio and Television.

They failed to turn up to a pre-determined location in the country's centre and that's when authorities declared them missing. As they weaved through their tasks in the hope of of succeeding, they didn't know that their superiors had called off the mission.

Lithuanian Military spokesperson Laimis Bratikas told the Baltic News Service they initiated 'a search for the soldiers, suspecting that something unplanned had happened'.

However that proved to be harder than expected.

Despite enlisting the help of a military dog and helicopter, the Žemaitija Motorised Infantry Brigade soldiers remained undetected because they thought the mission was still going.

It took crews more than 24 hours to finally 'capture' the potential graduates.

Bratikas said: "Military scout training is special, as they are prepped to accomplish their task by staying undetected - in this case, they acted that way until the very end."

If you're playing Hide and Seek then you definitely want these troops on your side. Hopefully they passed their exam because of their super stealthy practices.

But if you thought that was a brilliant Hide and Seek story then you must not have seen the massive game that played out inside an IKEA store. It got so big that the police had to be called to shut it down.

More than 2,000 people signed up to the Facebook event.

Officers rushed out to the branch of the furniture store in Braehead, Glasgow, after reports of people turning up to the shop and hiding in cupboards, fridges and beds.

The bizarre story comes after more than 2,000 people signed up to a Facebook event set up to take the childhood game into Glasgow's branch of the Swedish megastore.

Another 10,000 enthusiasts also stated they were 'interested' in taking part in the event. Sadly for them, however, the store's management got wind of what was going on.

According to reports, users in the event page began posting comments saying they had witnessed police turning people away at the store's entrance.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed that five officers attended the store to assist staff before the game was abandoned.
