The little boy who was snatched by an alligator in a Disney Lagoon has been named.

Lane Graves was on holiday at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with his parents, Matt and Melissa, and his two siblings.

The incident triggered a 17-hour search with over 50 personnel which included helicopters, boats outfitted with sonar technology and dive teams.

His body was found around 15 yards away from where he disappeared and was fully intact.

Orange Country Sheriff, Jerry Demings, spoke at a press conference, saying that his parents were 'distraught but somewhat relieved' that their son's body was discovered intact.

Questions have been raised regarding the safety of the lagoon, as there are no signs warning of alligators. However, there are signs advising people not to swim.

Denis Phillips, a US journalist, showed his Facebook followers exactly where the incident took place.
